Northwest Independent Brokers Association

Through contacts with real estate firms I was working with at the time I was introduced to the Northwest Independent Brokers Association based in Bellevue, WA. The association had a simple template website at the time, but wanted something with more features and more value for their members. In early 2012 design and development began on the new website.

I developed this website using HTML and CSS styleing on the .Net platform with C# and MS SQL database support. I had the opportunity to work with a dedicated contact on this project which provided exact specifications for the design and layout of the website, color schema and font selection.

Using the clients design specifications I created informational pages including the home page, about page, contact, privacy policy, terms of use, DMCA notice and membership informaiton pages. Beyond standard static pages, I developed a system for the association to accept applications for membership online, a membership directory to promote member agents, an online ticketing system for events and continuing education classes, and a custom membership and administrative dashboard.

The membership dashboard allowed for association members to complete an online profile, including their profile picture, about information, contact information and their specialities. Members also had protected access to member meeting information, a membership directory, board of directors information and the ability to pay their association dues online through an integration with PayPal. The PayPal integration used a custom instant payment notification system which I coded in .Net C# which would validate the transaction with PayPal and email receipts to the member upon payment acceptance.

The administrative dashboard provided the ability to manage the membership accounts, including adding new users, modifying or deleting existing users and managing all user profiles. Additionally, administrators could add new meetings, manage the board of directors and officers listings, add, edit and delete events, manaage event registrations and access online payment records.

The event ticketing system was a custom eCommerce integration I developed using .Net and C# which allowed for members and non-members to view posted event information, register for the event and then process payment for their registration. Again, using a custom PayPal instant payment notification system I developed, the system would validate registration payments and then email the registration information and confirmation of payment to the event attendee. The IPN would also mark the registration as valid in the sytem and add the registration details to the event registration system for reference by association administrators.

This website was completely redeveloped in 2017, and I added many new features, and redesigned the website on a responsive paltform. That project is also listed in my portfolio (with a lot more photos!).
